How is this achieved: Termites eat wood. This should never be the timber in your
home! Bait boxes use timber lures outside to make sure that termites never
go indoors. If termites are found they are killed with a growth regulator, a
product that is completely safe for families and pets. |

The infestation will be located at source and the traps laid directly on the termite infestation (as above). The termites are attracted to the traps and carry the bait back to their nest. The colony will be killed. A queen termite will live for 50 to 80 years, and the older colonies do most of the damage to property. It is thus important to kill termite colonies to get rid of the problem. As a safeguard, an extra bait box is set up in the garden where there is some evidence of activity (log at left). The bait box is carefully positioned over the entry point in the ground. The box is filled with soft, easily eaten timber to attract the ants.
